These People Exist

This is the bio of someone I saw on Facebook posting on a message I was reading.
That is why I am so very grateful for the life I have today. Moving to Key West two weeks after one Jimmy Buffett concert 15 years ago totally changed my life for the better. Meeting my wife that same season and getting married after knowing each other for only five days and were still together fifteen years later shows me sometimes we truly are blessed. Thanks Jimmy for the inspiration and waking me up at your show !!
I told Josh about it.  He said, we neither of us are those kinds of people--as much as we want to be.  We aren't the kind to quit everything and up and move to The Keys or anywhere else.   It seems to have worked out for this guy.

I have eaten there twice this week.  I am not boycotting them or supporting any group effort of support. I just so happened to meet friends there on two occasions.

The people who work there are nice and the girls and I enjoy the food.

I am not getting involved in any big scene.  I went, ate, and that's the end of the story.

Clutter--A Mission

Yeah, I am tired of piles.  Do you have piles sitting around too?  They seem to gather on my dining room table and on top of the dryer--I wonder what attracts them to those places?

Master of Stain Removal

Josh found two Tommy Bahama shirts at my favorite store in North Little Rock, Name Brand Clothing--Half of Half.  It sells returns, overstocks, etc.  They sell things for half of half price, for example, a $60 item will be $15.  You have to look carefully, because often these things were returned or didn't sell because they are damaged in some way.

These shirts both had small stains.  I knew one would be a piece of cake to remove.  The other would be more difficult, but I told Josh I could do it.

I was right, the first one--out in about 10 seconds.  The other involved a lot more work.  I admit, the color started to fade ever so slightly--so I stopped.  I let soak for a bit--ran the washer--stains gone.

Tamale Spread

What a terrible name for a meal---spread.  Well,  McClard's BBQ's Half Spread may be the best meal in Arkansas.  It doesn't need a more eloquent name.

More Cooking with Rick Adventures

I cooked two recipes tonight from my  Rick Bayless cookbook project.  Tonight, it was biscuits and twice baked potatoes that he says were recipes from his parents' BBQ restaurant.  Both were delicious.
I ate my biscuits with the strawberry jam I made a few weeks ago.

Crafty Mom Confessions

I have given alway most of my scrapbooking things.  I don't have the passion for it that I used to.  It provided a creative and social outlet for many years.

I made my mother in law a snapfish photo book that was so beautiful--I wondered why I bothered with the mess of the other.

My crafty desires are not fading.  I have been sewing.  I have been painting.  I am exploring my options.

Dunes of Work

I decided my laundry room needed redone.  (I almost said,  an alteration, but I decided it was too cute and not really laundry related enough to be smart.)  Surprise, it is more work than I had thought it would be.   Holes needed to be filled, sanding needed to be done, oh and painting the trim white--wow, is that a lot of work.

One day, maybe in the next few days, it will be a lovely shade called "Dune" with glossy white trim.  Honestly, even with all the mess and chaos--I like it already.
